To provide an emergency detachment metal fitting for connecting and detaching the cable end parts of two cables which can easily and quickly release the connection, and which also takes work safety into consideration, and a wire rope type guard fence using the same.SOLUTION: An emergency detachment metal fittings includes, at its one end side, an attachment and dropping-off prevention part which is attached to a cable end part of one cable and prevents dropping-off from the cable end part of the one cable, and also includes, at its the other end side, a connecting and detaching part serving as a connection part for connecting a cable end part of the other cable, and having a slide engagement part 121 and a slide restricting member 122 for engaging sliding of the slide engagement part 121.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
