To apply and bond a powder-based colorant to a surface such that digital printing is formed on the surface, in fields of ornamental surfaces of construction panels such as floor panels and wall panels.SOLUTION: In a method and a device for eternally bonding a colorant to a surface, for the purpose of applying a liquid binder 11 to a surface 2 of a panel, the panel is arranged on the lower side of a digital liquid drop applying head 30', a colorant is applied to the surface, a portion of the colorant is bonded to the surface with the liquid binder, a non-bonded colorant is removed, and digital printing is formed thereon, which is subjected to heat and pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2d
