To provide a lock member manufacturing method capable of reducing a void fraction by a simple method, and to provide a vehicle lid lock device provided with the lock member.SOLUTION: A manufacturing process of a rod part 52 comprises: a first step of arranging a slide pin 83 at a holding part 821 by inserting the slide pin 83 in a first die 81 and a second die 82; a second step of injecting and filling a molten resin A in molding spaces 810 and 820 in the respective first and second dies 81 and 82 in a state where the slide pin 83 is held by the holding part 821; and a third step of pulling out the slide pin after solidifying the molten resin A via cooling. In the third step, a space formed by pulling out the slide pin 83 is formed as a hollow part 801a of a molded article 800.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
