To provide a beam member with a chord member allowing a building space of an upper part of the beam member to be effectively used.SOLUTION: A beam member 20 is provided with: a folded beam 22 comprising a lower beam part 24, a connecting part 26 extending upward from end parts 24A, 24B of the lower beam part 24, and an upper beam part 28 extending from an upper end 26A of the connecting part 26 to an outside of the lower beam 24; and a cord member 30 connecting the end parts 24A, 24B of the lower beam part 24 to the end parts (outer end part 28LB, 28RB) of the upper beam part 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
