To provide a restraining device and a restraining method capable of improving the stability of a building during construction while securing the structural soundness and safety of the building during construction.SOLUTION: A restraining device 40 is a restraining device 40 attached to a seismic isolation device 30 installed in a building 1 during construction, and includes restraining means for restraining the seismic isolation device 30 so that the seismic isolation device 30 does not function when the restraining device 40 receives an external force less than a predetermined amount, and for releasing the restraint of the seismic isolation device 30 so that the seismic isolation device 30 functions when the restraining device 40 receives an external force of a predetermined amount or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】施工中の建物の構造上の健全性や安全性を確保しながら、施工中の建物の安定性を向上させることが可能となる拘束具、及び拘束方法を提供すること。【解決手段】拘束具４０は、施工中の建物１に設置された免震装置３０に取り付けられる拘束具４０であって、拘束具４０が所定量未満の外力を受けた場合には、免震装置３０が機能しないように免震装置３０を拘束し、拘束具４０が所定量以上の外力を受けた場合には、免震装置３０が機能するように免震装置３０の拘束を解放する拘束手段を備えた。【選択図】図２
