To provide a column member and a column base structure capable of increasing energy absorption capacity in a column base by making a base plate easy to yield, while securing rigidity in a column base part.SOLUTION: Anchor bolt holes 11 are provided in the vicinity of four corners of a base plate 3. Also, cutouts are provided and thin wall parts 9 are formed on the rear surface side at least in the vicinity of the four corners of the base plate 3, including the portions of the anchor bolt holes 11. The thin wall part 9 is not formed at a base part of a column 5. A straight line passing a center of gravity position of the anchor bolt hole 11 and orthogonal to a diagonal line of the base plate 3 is defined as a reference line E. Also, a straight line of the base part of the column 5 in parallel with the reference line E is defined as G, and a straight line at the portion closest to the column 5 out of the straight lines which are in parallel with the reference line E and pass only the thin wall part 9 is defined as F. 【課題】 柱脚部の剛性を確保しつつ、ベースプレートを降伏しやすくして柱脚におけるエネルギー吸収能力を大きくすることが可能な柱部材及び柱脚構造を提供する。【解決手段】 ベースプレート3の四隅近傍には、アンカーボルト孔11が設けられる。また、アンカーボルト孔11の部位を含み、少なくともベースプレート3の四隅近傍の裏面側には、切欠きが設けられ、薄肉部9が形成される。薄肉部9は、柱5の基部には形成されない。アンカーボルト孔11の重心位置を通り、ベースプレート3の対角線に直交する直線を基準線Eとする。また、基準線Eに平行な柱5の基部の直線をGとし、基準線Eに平行であって薄肉部9のみを通る直線の内、最も柱5に近い部位の直線をFとする。この際、直線Gにおける降伏耐力よりも、直線Fの降伏耐力が小さい。【選択図】図3
