To provide an earth retaining plate for a water meter housing that can appropriately prevent sediment from entering the housing and can be easily constructed.SOLUTION: The present invention is an earth retaining plate 6 for a water meter housing that covers an opening 18 through which a water supply pipe 2 is inserted in a housing 4 of a water meter housing 1. This earth retaining plate 6 for a water meter housing comprises a plate-like body 21 larger than an opening area of the opening 18. An insertion portion 22 that has an insertion hole 25 penetrating from one surface to the other surface and through which the water supply pipe 2 can be inserted is provided at substantially the center of the plate-like body 21. In addition, a deformable portion 23 that can be deformed so as to follow the shape of the housing 4 is provided at least below the center of the insertion hole 25 in the plate-like body 21. Further, an engagement portion 24 that can engage with a part of the housing 4 is provided above the center of the insertion hole 25 on the housing 4 side of the plate-like body 21. The engagement portion 24 can change the engagement position with respect to the housing 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
