To provide a medium for pulverization such as a ball, a bead and the like used for a pulverizer such as a vibration mill, an attritor, a sand mill and the like where the breakage of the medium during pulverization is prevented and abrasion resistance is improved.SOLUTION: A medium for pulverization whose main component is zirconium oxide contains: 2.5 mol% or more and 3.2 mol% or less yttrium oxide; 0 wt.% or more and 0.01 wt.% or less silicon oxide; 0 wt.% or more and 0.05 wt.% or less titanium oxide; and 0 wt.% or more and 0.01 wt.% or less sodium oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】本発明は、振動ミル、アトライタ、サンドミル等の粉砕機に用いられるボール、ビーズ等の粉砕用メディアにおいて、粉砕中におけるメディアの破壊を防止するとともに耐摩耗性を向上させる。【解決手段】主成分が酸化ジルコニウムからなる粉砕用メディアであって、酸化イットリウムを２．５モル％以上３．２モル％以下含有し、酸化珪素を０ｗｔ．％以上０．０１ｗｔ．％以下、酸化チタンを０ｗｔ．％以上０．０５ｗｔ．％以下、酸化ナトリウムを０ｗｔ．％以上０．０１ｗｔ．％以下含むことを特徴とする粉砕用メディア。【選択図】なし
