To provide a coping capable of setting a fence or a handrail easily, and a construction method using such coping.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a coping attached to an upper skeleton, and this coping has an elongated shape extending in the longitudinal direction. Moreover, a cross-sectional shape orthogonal to the longitudinal direction comprises a cap part that defines an upper surface of the coping, a side part that connects an upper end to the cap part and defines the side of the coping, a bottom part that extends from the side part to the inside and defines a lower surface of the coping, first and second legs configured to interpose the skeleton when the coping is arranged on the upper surface of the skeleton, connects an upper end to the cap part, and extends below the bottom part and connects the bottom part to the side surface, and a beam part connected to the first leg and the second leg above the bottom part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
