To provide a plate material for use in a rigid body origami structure which is light in weight while being rigid, and can be folded without being influenced by a thickness, and a foldable structure composed of the plate material.SOLUTION: A plate material is constituted of: at least two hard composite parts (R) being fiber-reinforced resin composites composed of reinforcing fibers and first matrix resins; and substantially-linear soft composite parts (S) being bendable portions composed of reinforcing fibers and second matrix resins which are arranged while contacting with both a substantially-linear edge of one hard composite part (R) and a substantially-linear edge of the other hard composite part (R). A width B of the soft composite part (S) and a thickness D of an air gap generated between one hard composite part (R) and the other hard composite part (R) when folding the two hard composite parts (R) which adjoin each other with the soft composite parts (S) sandwiched therebetween by an angle of 180° with the same as an axis satisfy a relationship of 0.1×B
【課題】 堅牢でありながら軽量であり、かつ厚みの影響を受けずに折り畳むことにできる剛体折紙構造に用いる板材を提供すること、およびそれからなる可折構造物を提供する。【解決手段】補強繊維と第一のマトリクス樹脂からなる繊維強化樹脂複合材である少なくとも二つの硬質複合材部(R)、および一方の硬質複合材部(R)の実質的に直線状の縁と他方の硬質複合材部(R)の実質的に直線状の縁の両方に接して配置され、補強繊維と第二のマトリクス樹脂からなる屈曲可能部分である実質的に直線状の軟質複合材部(S)から構成される板材であって、軟質複合材部(S)の幅Bと、軟質複合材部(S)を挟んで隣接する二つの硬質複合材部(R)を軟質複合材部(S)を軸として180°折り曲げたときに一方の硬質複合材部(R)と他方の硬質複合材部(R)との間に生じる空隙の厚さDとが、0.1×B<D<0.6×Bを満足することを特徴とする板材。【選択図】 図1
