To provide a bridge pier removal method that can shorten the construction period.SOLUTION: A bridge pier removal method includes: a step (S1) of installing a hanger net on one side of a bridge pier for suspending a crane; a step (S2) of forming a notch in the bridge pier with a breaker mounted on heavy equipment; a step (S3) of grabbing the top of the bridge pier with the heavy equipment and pulling it down on to an impact absorbing mound; a step (S4) of excavating around the bridge pier with the heavy equipment to expose an underground foundation; a step (S5) of crushing and removing the exposed foundation; a step (S6) of throwing backfill soil into a dug out hole; and a step (S7) of padding down the backfill soil with the heavy equipment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
