OUTER SKIN FORMATION OF CERAMIC HONEYCOMB BODY
To provide a honeycomb body where an outer skin having an opened partial channel extending from an inlet face to an outlet face at an outer peripheral part is formed.SOLUTION: A ceramic honeycomb body is provided with the outer skin that does not block partial cells 120 extending from an inlet face to an outlet face at an outer peripheral part of the body. A method for making the ceramic honeycomb body provided with the outer skin includes: a step of arranging a sheet 130 with its outer surface spaced apart from interiors of the partial cells; and a step of forming the outer skin to the body with the sheet arranged and provided thereon. In a subsequent curing step in the method, the outer skin is bonded to walls of cells of the body, spaced apart from the interiors of the partial cells.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3B
