To provide a latching auxiliary metal fitting for a ladder which is effective when a ladder cannot be stably latched due to the presence of an obstacle when a portable ladder is installed on an object to be ascended/descended.SOLUTION: A latching auxiliary metal fitting 1, which is used when a ladder 110 including at least two hooks 116a, 116b detachably latched to a ladder latching member 102a provided on an object to be ascended/descended at prescribed lateral intervals is latched to the ladder latching member by each hook, includes: a fixing section 2 which is detachably fixed to the ladder latching member when the other bar cannot be latched to the ladder latching member when one hook is latched to the ladder latching member; and an extension bar 20 which is provided at the fixing section and enables the other hook to be latched.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
