To provide a copolymer for an antifouling coating composition that allows formation of an antifouling coating film, capable of maintaining dissolution of the coating film for a long period of time, exerting an excellent antifouling performance and also exerting the excellent antifouling performance even at a draft zone which is liable to cause an adhesion of aquatic fouling organisms.SOLUTION: A copolymer for an antifouling coating composition is obtained by copolymerizing a monomer (a) and an ethylenic unsaturated monomer (b) other than the monomer (a). The monomer (a) is expressed by a general formula (1): HC=C(R)C(=O)Si(R, R)R(in which Ris hydrogen or a methyl group, Rand Rare an isopropyl group, and Ris an alkenyl group, an aryl group or a heteroaryl group).SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】長期間にわたり塗膜溶解が持続し、良好な防汚性能を発揮でき、水棲汚損生物の付着が起こりやすい喫水部においても良好な防汚性能を発揮できる防汚塗膜を形成可能な防汚塗料組成物用共重合体を提供する。【解決手段】単量体（ａ）と、前記単量体（ａ）以外のエチレン性不飽和単量体（ｂ）とを共重合して得られる防汚塗料組成物用共重合体であって、前記単量体（ａ）は、一般式（１）で表される、防汚塗料組成物用共重合体。一般式（１）：Ｈ２Ｃ＝Ｃ（Ｒ１）Ｃ（＝Ｏ）Ｓｉ（Ｒ２，Ｒ４）Ｒ３(式中、Ｒ１は水素又はメチル基、Ｒ２及びＲ３はイソプロピル基、Ｒ４はアルケニル基、アリール基、ヘテロアリール基を示す)【選択図】なし
