To manage a construction status using a detection result obtained by a work machine having a detection device that detects a position of a target.SOLUTION: A shape measurement system includes a target detection unit which is mounted on a turning body of a work machine having the turning body and a traveling body, detects a target while turning the turning body, and outputs information on the target, and a shape detection unit which outputs shape information indicating a three-dimensional shape of the target using the information on the target detected by the target detection unit during turning of the turning body. The target detection unit determines a timing of detection on the basis of the status of turning of the turning body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
