To provide a new and improved rise and fall type car stop device which enables a driver of a vehicle to more reliably recognize the presence of a car stop member.SOLUTION: A rise and fall type car stop device comprises: a car stop member 100 that can be raised and lowered from a road surface; a projection unit 102 provided on the car stop member and forming an image by projecting image light; and a projection control unit 123 that controls parameters related to a formation range, being a range in which the image is formed, according to a lifting state of the car stop member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
