STEEL DAMPER FOR ASEISMIC BASE ISOLATION
To provide a steel damper for aseismic base isolation which is capable of absorbing energy also by shear direction deformation.SOLUTION: A steel damper for aseismic base isolation 100 includes, for example, aseismic base isolation plates 10a having the same configuration disposed in a cross direction. The aseismic base isolation plates 10 (subscript "a, b, c, d" are omitted) are formed by a bending process of rectangular steel plates. The steel damper for aseismic base isolation includes: an upper horizontal part 1 disposed on an upper substrate 20; an upper inclined part 2 which connects through an upper end portion 12 to the upper horizontal part 1, and which is located lower as going away from the upper horizontal part 1; a lower horizontal part 7 disposed on a lower substrate 30; a lower inclined part 6 which connects through a lower end portion 13 to the lower horizontal part 7, and which is located higher as going away from the lower horizontal part 7; and a vertical part 4 which smoothly connects through an upper circular arc portion 3 to the upper inclined part 2 and through a lower circular arc portion 5 to the lower inclined part 6, and which is parallel to a central axis 21.
