To provide a vehicle gate opening/closing device capable of quickly determining failures of outer/inner switches without using a timer.SOLUTION: A control unit 102 determines that an outer switch 21 has a failure on the basis of the relationship between the state of the outer switch 21 and the vehicle speed, specifically when the vehicle speed is greater than 0 and the outer switch 21 is in on state. Also, the control unit 102 determines that an inner switch 22 has a failure on the basis of the relationship between the state of the inner switch 22 and the opened/closed state of an opening/closing member 101, specifically when the opening/closing member 101 is in the closed state and the inner switch 22 is in on state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
