To provide a coarse aggregate capable of improving not only compression strength of a concrete but also tensile strength and that can be obtained with high productivity at low cost.SOLUTION: The coarse aggregate for concrete is metallic, has a shape of both end parts of a columnar body of a prescribed length being crushed, in which thicknesses increase from each of both end parts toward its central part. The coarse aggregate for concrete is, for example, a coarse aggregate 10A having approximately tetrahedron shape, a coarse aggregate 10D having a shape of approximately tetrahedron bodies being bonded to each other with one side 13, and a coarse aggregate 10E having a shape of two or more recesses being recessed in its plan view from its outline toward its central part, or two or more projections 16 projecting from the central part 14 toward the outline L1, tips of these projections 16 being on the same plane, and the thickness of the central part 14 being thicker than the thickness of the end part of the recess 15 or the end part of projection 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】コンクリートの圧縮強度だけでなく引張強度を向上させることができ、かつ生産性よく安価に得られる粗骨材を提供する。【解決手段】コンクリート用粗骨材は、金属製で、所定長の柱状体の両端部が潰れ、該両端部のそれぞれから中央部に向かって厚みが大きくなっている形状を有し、例えば略四面体形状の粗骨材10A、略四面体同士が1つの辺13で結合している形状の粗骨材10D、平面視において外郭線から中央部に向かって凹んだ2以上の凹部と該凹部に対する凸部、又は中央部14から外郭線L1に向かって突出した2以上の凸部16を有し、これら凸部16の先端部が同一平面にあり、中央部14の厚さが凹部15の端部又は凸部16の端部の厚さに比して厚い形状を有する粗骨材10Eとする。【選択図】図1
