To provide a reinforcement structure and method for a bridge pier crossing section capable of performing reinforcement at a low cost in a short time by attaching a reinforcement member having a simple structure and being easy to attach, and capable of controlling a damaged part and a breakage form at the time of an earthquake.SOLUTION: A reinforcement structure for reinforcing a bridge pier crossing section comprising a bridge pier 11, a girder end of a first girder placed on the top end of the bridge pier 11, a base part 15 formed at the top end of the bridge pier 11, and a girder end of a second girder placed on the top end of the base part 15, includes a rod member 21 that penetrates the base part 15 in the longitudinal direction. One end of the rod member 21 is engaged with the surface of the base part 15 opposite to the girder end of the first girder, and the other end is engaged with a reaction force receiving member located on the girder end of the first girder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
