To provide a method for producing ceramics using steelmaking slag as a raw material, in which reduction in strength can be suppressed even when the specific gravity is lowered.SOLUTION: A method for producing ceramics includes: a step of obtaining a mixture of steelmaking slag powder in an amount of 90% by mass or more and 97% by mass or less, and a lithium silicate compound in an amount of 3% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, wherein the total amount of the steelmaking slag powder and the lithium silicate compound is 100% by mass; and a step of sintering the mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
