To provide a high alumina cast refractory which is easy to produce, has a low porosity, and has a high corrosion resistance, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A high aluminous casting refractory having the following chemical composition: Al2O3: 95.0 to 99.5 mass%; SiO2: 0.20 to 1.50 mass%; B2O3: 0.05 to 1.50 mass%; MgO: 0.05 to 1.20 mass%; and others: balance. And, a method of producing a high aluminous cast refractory, which comprises mixing an Al2O3 raw material, a SiO2 raw material, a B2O3 raw material, and an MgO raw material to obtain a mixture, followed by the melting of the mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: None
