VEHICLE REVERSE RUNNING PREVENTION SYSTEM
To solve the problems outlined by many cases in the news where signs on an approach road to an interchange leading to a conventional expressway have been overlooked by drivers, in particular elderly drivers, who enter via an exit, panic, continue reverse driving, and cause a major accident; and although there are reports that expressway companies have started taking action, they seem to have no immediate solution.SOLUTION: Reliable and inexpensive means to solve the problem is a system in which the familiar "No Entry" road sign is displayed in series along a road from an entry point to a danger zone on roads where reverse driving traffic is likely to occur, to allow awareness of the danger. The provision of a location for performing U-turns on the spot allows immediate evacuation to a safe zone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
【課題】従来の高速道路等に続くインタ‐チエンジへの進入道路での標識が一箇所で見過ごしたり、特に高齢者では見落とし等で、出口から進入して慌ててそのまま逆走して大事故を起こす例がニュースで取り上げられる事が度々あり、高速道路各社も対策に乗りだしたとの報もあるが早急に解決する見込みも無さそうである。【解決手段】先ず、費用をかけずに確実に解決する手段は、逆走が起こると思われる道路上に進入口から進入危険個所までの道路上に、見慣れた「車両進入禁止」の標識を数か所、連続に表示して危険を察知すれば、その場でUターン出来る場所を設けてあれば即安全地帯に退避することができるシステムである。【選択図】図4
