To disclose one example of a striker capable of improving strength without using a reinforcement bracket.SOLUTION: A cover portion 14 covering a part of a side surface portion of an engagement pin 11 from outside is provided with a first load receiving portion 14A substantially orthogonal to a first direction and a second load receiving portion 14B substantially orthogonal to a second direction (sheet longitudinal direction). Thereby, in the striker 10, at least part of a sheet longitudinal direction load (load in a sheet front direction in Fig. 5) acting on the engagement pin 11 can be received on the second load receiving portion 14B. 【課題】 補強ブラケットを用いることなく、強度を向上させることが可能なストライカーの一例を開示する。【解決手段】 係合ピン１１の側面部の一部を外側から覆う覆い部１４には、第１方向と略直交する第１荷重受部１４Ａ、及び第２方向（シート前後方向）と略直交する第２荷重受部１４Ｂが設けられている。これにより、当該ストライカー１０では、係合ピン１１に作用するシート前後方向荷重（図５では、シート前方向きの荷重）の少なくとも一部を第２荷重受部１４Ｂにて受けることが可能となる。延いては、ストライカー１０の強度を向上させることが可能となり得る。【選択図】 図５
