To provide a movable handrail which can rotate with respect to a handrail rod installed in a structure, move in the axial direction of the handrail rod, and facilitate the fixation and release in the axial direction.SOLUTION: A movable handrail 25 comprises: a support member 30 which is movably provided in a stationary handrail 21; and a handrail body which extends from the support member 30. When regulating the movement in the axial direction (Y direction) of the support member 30 in the stationary handrail 21, the rotation position of the handrail rod with the stationary handrail 21 as the rotational axis is determined as the lock position. A body part 31 includes: a compression part 31C which compresses the stationary handrail 21 at the lock position; and a pressed part 35 which is located on the side opposite to the compression part 31C with a cylindrical part 33 held therebetween. The outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical part 33 is provided with pressing parts 33A1, 33A2 which press the pressed part 35 to cause the compression part 31C of the body part 31 to compress the stationary handrail 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
