To achieve both ventilation and waterproofness in a vent layer of an exterior wall with a throating of a simple structure.SOLUTION: An exterior wall structure includes: an exterior wall in which vent layers (20, 30) are formed between frame members (21, 31) of a lower floor side and an upper floor side and exterior wall surface members (22, 32) of the lower floor side and the upper floor side; and a throating (40) fixed to a lower end part of the frame member of the upper floor side. The throating includes: a contact part (41) coming into contact with an outdoor surface of the frame member of the upper floor side; a first overhang part (42) which overhangs outwardly toward a rear surface of the exterior wall surface member of the upper floor side from a lower end of the contact part and in which a plurality of vent holes (42a) are provided; a first suspension part (43) extending downward from an outer end of the first overhang part; a second overhang part (44) overhanging outwardly by passing on an upper end surface of the exterior wall surface member of the lower floor side from a lower end of the first suspension part; and a second suspension part (45) extending downward from an outer end of the second overhang part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
