To provide a cornice prevention device which can prevent occurrence of cornice without being affected by wind as much as possible.SOLUTION: A cornice prevention device 10 is mounted on a circumference of a roof 5. The cornice prevention device 10 includes a snow receiving part 20 formed of horizontal members 21 arranged side by side in a vertical direction at intervals, a holding material 30 for holding the snow receiving part 20, and a base part that supports the holding material 30 and is fixed to the roof 5. The holding material 30 has a cross-sectional L-shaped reinforcing material (upper reinforcing material 80) that extends in a direction vertical to the arrangement direction of the horizontal material 21, has substantially a triangular plate shape in side view, and is laid among substantially triangular apex parts of the holding material 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
