ZIRCONIA-BASED CERAMICS
To provide a method of forming a periodical fine structure without providing thermal adverse effect or the like on a surface of zirconia-based ceramics difficult to be mechanically processed, and to provide the zirconia-based ceramics having the periodical fine structure formed on the surface.SOLUTION: An irregular periodic structure is formed in a laser beam spot by irradiating a zirconia-based ceramics surface with linearly polarized laser light. Striped irregularities parallel to the polarization direction can be formed in the laser beam spot by irradiating the zirconia-based ceramics surface with linearly polarized ultrashort pulse laser light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】機械的加工が困難なジルコニア系セラミックスの表面に、熱的悪影響等を与えることなく周期的な微細構造を形成する方法、及び表面に周期的微細構造が形成されたジルコニア系セラミックスを提供する。【解決手段】ジルコニア系セラミックス表面に、直線偏光のレーザー光を照射して、レーザー光のスポット内に凹凸の周期構造を形成する。直線偏光の超短パルスレーザー光をジルコニア系セラミックス表面に照射することにより、偏光方向に平行な縞状の凹凸を、レーザー光のスポット内に形成することができる。【選択図】図1
