To provide a self-propelled work machine that improves adaptability to a travel surface while reducing labor.SOLUTION: A self-propelled work machine comprises: a vehicle body 10; a traveling unit 20 placed on the side of the vehicle body 10 and that can travel forwards; and a work unit 30 that is vertically connected so as to freely go up and down by a rotating frame 35 at the front of the vehicle body 10. The work machine further includes: a cylinder 38 provided in front of the vehicle body 10 that drives the work unit 30 up and down; and a rotation restricting unit 70 that restricts the downward rotation of the working unit 30 by arranging a rotatable cam 71 below the rotating frame 35. The rotation restricting unit 70 includes: a motor 75 for rotating the cam 71; and a rod 72 for connecting the cam 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
