To impart a structure which can further properly and stably hold a state that a closed position of a movable member of an automobile is adjusted by a shock absorber, to the shock absorber.SOLUTION: A shock absorber comprises: a female member 3 which is at least partially accommodated in an attachment grommet body 2 in a state that the female member can move in an orientation along a center axis x of the grommet body 2; and a male member 4 having a buffering head part 4a located outside the female member 3 at one end of a shaft part 4c which is accommodated in the female member 3. A deformable part 3a which is liable to cause an elastic deformation is formed at the female member 3, and an engagement part 3b which can be engaged at each position after the movement with respect to an engaged part 2i formed in the grommet main body 2 at the outside of the deformable part 3a. A regulation part 4k for regulating the elastic deformation by being pressed against an inner face 3e of the deformable part 3a of the female member 3 accompanying a turning operation to a prescribed twisted position from a pre-twisted position is arranged at the male member 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
