To provide a wood joint member capable of reducing the bearing stress acting on the inner peripheral surface of a through-hole of a wooden member with which a shaft contacts, and a damping structure using the wood joint member.SOLUTION: A wood joint member of the present invention is a wood joint member (wood panel 2X) in which wooden members 20, 20 are joined together by penetrating a shaft 7 into a mated state through a through-hole 21 formed in one of the wooden members 20 and a through-hole 21 formed in the other wooden member 20. The shaft 7 is a diameter-expanded shaft 70 having a shaft member 71 and a pipe 72 provided to enclose the shaft member 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 23
