To provide a drain plug device having simple structure near a drain hole, and a wash stand equipped with the drain plug device.SOLUTION: A drain plug device 1 comprises: a drain plug 30; and a mechanism part 31 that changes a position of the drain plug 30 to an open position for opening a drain hole 10U and a closed position for closing the drain hole. The mechanism part 31 pulls the drain plug 30 in a direction from the closed position to the open position when changing the drain plug 30 from the closed position to the open position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
