To provide an inexpensive, intuitive and easy-to-install water stop device.SOLUTION: A water stop device (1) is composed of a water stop plate (5) and a pair of fixing plates (6) so that the entrance and exit of a building or the like can be closed. The water stop plate (5) is provided with a back surface packing (12) on a surface that comes into contact with the fixing plate (6) on the back surface side, into which a permanent magnet (10) is embedded. Further, a bottom packing (13, 14) having a predetermined thickness made of an elastic member is provided on the bottom of the water stop plate (5). On the other hand, in the fixing plate (6), an iron plate (16) is embedded in the surface with which the water stop plate (5) comes into contact, and a protrusion (18) is formed at a predetermined height from the floor surface. When the water stop plate (5) is fixed to the pair of fixing plates (6), the upper end portion of the water stop plate (5) is pressed by a protrusion (18) in a state in which the bottom packing (13, 14) is compressed on the floor surface, and the permanent magnet (10) is attracted to the iron plate (16), and the back surface packing (12) is compressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
