To reduce dark current in a wireless communication apparatus equipped with a communicator that performs wireless communication with a portable device.SOLUTION: A vehicle 10 includes an NFC communicator 12 that uses a communication system that complies with NFC standards, a BLE communicator 14 that uses a communication system that complies with BLE communication standards, and a wireless controller 16 that controls the NFC communicator 12 and the BLE communicator 14. Each of the NFC communicator 12 and the BLE communicator 14 is configured to perform polling for detecting a portable device 50 and authentication of the portable device 50 detected by the polling. When the authentication is completed in one of the NFC communicator 12 and the BLE communicator 14, the wireless controller 16 stops the polling by the other communicator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
