To provide a void inspection device capable of properly inspecting for the void inside a mortar filled in the joints of construction materials, and a void inspection method.SOLUTION: The void inspection device is a void inspection device for inspecting whether or not there is a void inside the mortar filled in the joints of construction materials placed side by side, which includes: a probe that is inserted in the mortar; a moving part that moves the probe in the direction the probe is inserted into the mortar; and a detection unit that detects the resistance that the tip of the probe receives as it moves inside the mortar.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
