To provide a method capable of stably manufacturing a honeycomb structure containing silicon carbide in which deterioration of thermal conductivity and deterioration of capturing efficiency are suppressed while using a recycled raw material.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a honeycomb structure containing a second silicon carbide containing of blending a recycled raw material derived from a material constituting a first honeycomb structure containing first silicon carbide in a step after sintering as a part of a starting material, in which the starting raw material contains silicon carbide and metal silicon, the recycled raw material is recovered from a material constituting the honeycomb structure containing the first silicon carbide in the process after the sintering, after recovering, the powder is particle size adjusted such that, when a cumulative particle size distribution of volume basis is measured using a laser diffraction/scattering method, a 10% diameter (D10) is 10 μm or larger, and a 50% diameter (D50) is 35 μm or smaller.SELECTED DRAWING: None
