RAIL BREAKAGE DETECTION DEVICE AND RAIL BREAKAGE DETECTION METHOD
To provide a rail breakage detection device capable of detecting a rail breakage from a vehicle side.SOLUTION: A rail breakage detection device detects a rail breakage from a vehicle side, the breakage being generated in a pair of rails constituting a track. The detection device comprises: a first sound collection part (3) installed in a first rail side of the vehicle; a second sound collection part (3) installed in a second rail side of the vehicle; a data recorder 4 to record sound data instrumented by the first and second sound collection parts; and a breakage determination part to determine if there is a rail breakage or not based on the first sound data of the first sound collection part and the second sound data of the second sound collection part. This breakage determination part acquires a sound magnitude of a sound source from the first sound data or the second sound data, and determines a rail breakage by comparing an estimated sound, estimated from the sound of the source, at a position of the second sound collection part or the first sound collection part, with the second sound data or the first sound data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
