To provide a sound arrester that is easy to install at a rental house or a wooden apartment, easy to air-condition or ventilate a space for which sound is insulated, inexpensive, and readily installable.SOLUTION: A sound arrester 2 includes: a plurality of shield members 51; a holding part composed of two support members 54a, 54c vertical to a floor surface of a floor 10, the support members holding a plurality of shield members 51a-51e at a predetermined interval, and two support members 54b, 54d parallel to the floor surface of the floor; and flow channel deforming members 57b-57d formed between adjacent two shield members and deforming a flow channel through which air flows. In the flow channel, a flow channel outlet 58c through which air flows out has an area formed to be smaller than that of a flow channel inlet 58a through which air flows in, and the area of a flow channel inner part 58b is deformed to be smaller than the area of the flow channel inlet 58a by the flow channel deforming members.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
