To improve convenience of a temporary hand rail.SOLUTION: A temporary hand rail comprises a base plate, a hand rail, and a mat 20 laid on the base plate. The base plate has predetermined front-back direction and right-left direction and has a plurality of attachment parts, to which the hand rail is to be attached, on at least one side in the right-left direction. The mat 20 has a shape corresponding to a top face of the base plate and has perforations 20c, 20d along parts to be selectively cut off in accordance with the plurality of attachment parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
