SPINEL-ALUMINA-CARBON BRICK FOR VACUUM DEGASSING APPARATUS AND VACUUM DEGASSING APPARATUS
To provide a spinel-alumina-carbon brick having excellent corrosion resistance to slag generated in a vacuum degassing apparatus and also having excellent thermal shock resistance, magnesia-carbon reaction resistance, and oxidation resistance, and a vacuum degassing apparatus using thereof for a lower vessel wall.SOLUTION: A spinel-alumina-carbon brick containing 13 mass% or over and 70 mass% or under of spinel, 1 mass% or over and 70 mass% or under of alumina, 3 mass% or over and 15 mass% or under of graphite, and 0.1 mass% or over and 2.0 mass% or under of aluminum and/or aluminum alloy, is lined to a lower vessel side wall of a vacuum degassing apparatus for performing operations involving an operation, conducted at a rate of 80% or over of operation opportunities of one furnace, of adding aluminum as a deoxidation material in a vessel, the operation satisfying the formula (2). 0.10≤average in-vessel slag index [-]≤0.30 (2)SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
