To provide a road state estimation device capable of detecting a road surface state with high reliability without performing road patrol using a dedicated vehicle for detecting a road surface state.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a road surface state estimation device includes: reception means; recognition means; and estimation means. The reception means receives an image continuously capturing vehicles passing on a road. The recognition means recognizes a vehicle and light of a head light from the image. The estimation means estimates the road surface state of the road on the basis of a position of the vehicle and change of the light that are recognized from the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】路面状況を検出するための専用車両を用いた道路パトロールをすることなく、信頼性が高く路面状況を検出することができる路面状況推定装置を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態によれば、路面状況推定装置は、受信手段、認識手段、推定手段を有する。受信手段は、道路上を通行する車両を連続的に撮影した画像を受信する。認識手段は、前記画像から車両及び前照灯の光を認識する。推定手段は、前記画像から認識された車両の位置と前記光の変化をもとに前記道路の路面状況を推定する。【選択図】図１
