To provide a baby gate of which the mechanism to lock or unlock a hinged door is provided in a position that is difficult for children to reach.SOLUTION: A baby gate 1 includes a pillar 2 installed on the wall surface W on one side of the passage so as to close the passage and a hinged door that is locked onto the pillar 2. The hinged door is provided with a retractable latch 31 that is fitted into the pillar 2, and the pillar 2 is provided with a recess 12a that receives the latch and a shift mechanism that displaces the recess 12a in the vertical up-down direction. The shift mechanism includes a spring that holds the recess 12a at a height that faces the latch 31, and a handle 4 that displaces the recess 12a to a height that does not face the latch 31 against the energizing force from the spring. The handle 4 is arranged at a position higher than the upper frame part 32 of the hinged door.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】子供の手の届き難い位置に開き扉を閉開錠する仕組みを設けたベビーゲートを提供する。【解決手段】ベビーゲート１は、通路を閉鎖するように設けられ、通路の片側の壁面Ｗに設置された柱体２と、柱体２に施錠される開き戸を備える。開き戸に、柱体２に嵌入される出没自在のラッチ３１を設け、柱体２に、ラッチを受け入れる凹部１２ａと、凹部１２ａを鉛直上下方向に変位させるシフト機構を設ける。シフト機構は、凹部１２ａをラッチ３１と対向する高さ位置に保持するバネと、バネからの付勢力に抗して凹部１２ａをラッチ３１と対向しない高さ位置に変位させるためのハンドル４を備える。ハンドル４は、開き戸の上枠部３２よりも高い位置に配置する。【選択図】図２
