To provide a carbon-based metal composite capable of suppressing generation of Al4C3 and having high thermal conductivity, low electric resistivity and high toughness value, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a manufacturing method of the carbon-based metal composite that includes a step of pressure-impregnating into a carbon molded body a molten aluminum alloy, which contains aluminum and silicon, and metal components other than aluminum and silicon, in which the silicon is more than 3 times and more and less than 10 wt.% of a total weight percent of the metal components other than aluminum and silicon.SELECTED DRAWING: None
