To provide a door handle for opening a door without using fingers.SOLUTION: A door handle ((1, 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D)) for use in at least opening a door (20) secured in its closed position by a latch bolt (22), including: a working section (4) mounted on a door face for connection to a latch release mechanism provided inside the door (20); an operating section (2) disposed vertically above the working section (4) or spaced apart therefrom by a predetermined distance in a direction making an angle (α) of 45° or less toward the door tail end of the door (20) with respect to the vertical above, and provided with a portion with which an elbow of the operator engages; and a force transmitter (3) connecting the working section (4) and the operating section (2), in which manipulating the operating section (2) with the elbow of the operator causes the latch release mechanism to be actuated via the force transmitter (3) and the working section (4), thereby releasing the latch bolt (22).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
