To provide an automatic door capable of effectively diagnosing an optical sensor.SOLUTION: An automatic door comprises: a sensor 30 including at least one light projecting element for projecting light on a plurality of detection segments composing a detection area 90 and at least one light receiving element for receiving its reflected light, that generates detection information for opening/closing the automatic door based on light reception information in the light receiving element; an abnormal segment specification part 301 that specifies an abnormal segment departing from a prescribed condition from among the plurality of detection segments based on the light reception information in the light receiving element; a peripheral segment diagnosis part 305 that diagnoses an abnormality of a peripheral segment when a comparison result of the light reception information of the abnormal segment and the peripheral segment on its periphery is below a specified value; and an optical sensor diagnosis part 306 that diagnoses that the abnormality exists in at least either the light projecting element or the light receiving element of the abnormal segment if the abnormality of the peripheral segment is not diagnosed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
