To prevent a synthetic resin-made cover material formed so as to be freely expanded and contracted in an expansion joint for an outer wall from being deformed or sagging by its own weight even when receiving a negative pressure.SOLUTION: A cover material 3 is formed in a shape in which a mountain fold part 3a and a valley fold part 3b are repeated, a projecting surface part 33 projecting to the back side is integrally provided on a valley fold part 31b facing the back side, and a hole part 33a is formed on the projecting surface part 33. 【課題】外壁用のエキスパンションジョイントの伸縮自在に形成された合成樹脂製のカバー材を、負圧を受けても変形したり自重ダレを生じさせたりすることを防止する。【解決手段】カバー材3を山折り部3aと谷折り部3bが繰り返す形状に形成し、その背面側に面した谷折り部31bに、背面側へ突出した突面部33を一体に設け、この突面部33に孔部33aを形成する。この孔部33aに、間隙G内に架け渡される伸縮自在な支持部材4を挿通させ、且つワイヤー6で一体に連結する。【選択図】図1
