To provide a grab bucket which can increase efficiency of a dredge work, and an excess water discharge method in the grab bucket.SOLUTION: Excess water in a bucket is quickly discharged to the outside from a drain port 61 (excess water discharge means) provided between an opening peripheral edge part 23 (contact part) of a shell 21 and an opening peripheral edge part 33 (contact part) of an opposite shell 31, and accordingly efficiency of a dredge work can be increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
