To provide an illumination system capable of obtaining a high crime-prevention effect by utilizing crime suppression psychology.SOLUTION: An illumination system includes a lighting device 1A installed outside a window W in a building H, a lighting device 1B installed inside the window W in the building H, a human sensor that detects the presence or absence of a person in a preset area adjacent to the window outside the building H, and a lighting control device 2 that lights the lighting device 1A such that the illuminance of the lighting device 1A is higher than the illuminance of the lighting device 1B when the person is detected by the human sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
