To provide a method of toppling a tower building which does not require high-place work and can reduce construction cost and work labor and which can accurately control a toppling direction.SOLUTION: A method of toppling a tower building supported by a foundation portion 6 (a power-generating wind turbine 1) comprises: a first cut portion forming step of forming a first cut portion 20 in the vicinity of the foundation portion at a side opposite to a toppling direction of the tower building; a second cut portion forming step of forming a second cut portion 25 in the vicinity of the foundation portion at the toppling direction side of the tower building; an a toppling direction control device installation step which provides a toppling direction control device 30 controlling the toppling direction at the lower part of the tower building; and a toppling step of toppling the tower building while controlling the toppling direction by the toppling direction control device 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
