To detect abnormality of a sensor quickly even in the case where a work machine is in operation.SOLUTION: A work support system includes: detection devices 11A, 11B, 11C held by movable parts 4, 5, 6 of a work machine 2, and for acquiring and outputting posture information of the movable parts 4, 5, 6 by a sensor; an operation detection part 24 for detecting an operation of an operator related to the movable parts 4, 5, 6 and for outputting operation information; and a calculation part 34 for generating support information for supporting the operation of the operator and notifying it to the operator, based on the posture information.
